Menentukan question tag cukup mudah, perhatikan di kalimat sebelumnya apakah menggunakan to be atau verb.

• Jika kalimat awal menggunakan to be, question tag-nya mengikuti.
• Jika kalimat awal menggunakan verb, question tag-nya menggunakan do/does/did (sesuaikan tenses dan subjeknya)
• Jika kalimat awal positif, maka question tag-nya negatif.
• Jika kalimat awal negatif, maka question tag-nya positif.
