Pendahuluan  

Simple past tense adalah tense yang digunakan untuk menyatakan kejadian yang terjadi di waktu atau masa lampau dengan keterangan waktu yang jelas. Keterangan waktu lampau yang digunakan antara lain:

Yesterday, two days ago, last week, last holiday, last month, last year, two hours ago, last night, two months ago, two years ago, dan lain lain

Rumus Simple Past Tense adalah

(-) S + did not + V1 + O

(?) Did + S + V1 + O?

Present Perfect tense adalah tense yang digunakan untuk menyatakan kejadian yang terjadi sebelum sekarang (lampau) namun tidak ada keterangan waktu yang spesifik. Dengan kata lain, kata keterangan waktu tidak dibutuhkan disini. Namun, walaupun tanpa keterangan waktu, beberapa keterangan sering digunakan dalam present perfect, seperti: already, just, yet, since, for, so far

Rumus Present Perfect adalah:

(-) S + have/has not + V3 + O
