Karena kalimat di atas bentuk present continuous dan ingin di rubah ke bentuk past, maka tenses nya yang di pakai dan masih berkaitan dengan kalimat di atas adalah PAST CONTINOUS TENSE. Adapun rumusnya sbb :
(+) subject + to be (was/were) + V-ing + object
(-) subject + to be (was/were) + not + V-ing + object
(?) to be (was/were) + subject + V-ing + object

Catatan !!!
* To be (was) digunakan untuk subject I/she/he/it/subject orang ketiga tunggal.
* To be (were) digunakan untuk subject you/they/we/subject plural.
