An Apple is an example of a pome, afleshy fruit composed of a mature ovary along with other enlarge parts of the flowers. In an Apple the white, edible parts of the petals and sepals surround the ovary.
The Apple tree is widely cultivated through out temperate region of the world for its juice, edible pome. The many varieties of Apples have been popular for centuries and growers have selectively bred certain superior wild varieties for domestication and massa production.
