Bagaiman mengubah cerita menjadi pastent

Perhatian kata kerja dan keterangan waktu yang ada didalama kalimat.
kata kerja yang biasanya dipakai untuk cerita past tense adalah kata kerja bentuk kedua (lampau) contoh : eat – ate
dan kata kerja bantunya adalah DID

Gunakan verb past tense (did, was, were, went, gone, dll)
Misalnya is berubah menjadi was, do / does berubah menjadi did, are berubah menjadi were, go berubah menjadi went, dan sebagainya.
Contoh :
Present Tense : 
It is the night before Christmas. Mary grips tight to her shopping bag that is full of gifts for her friends. "Tomorrow will be a very nice day indeed!" she thinks to herself.
Past Tense :
It was the night before Christmas. Mary gripped tight to her shopping bag that was full of gifts for her friends. "Tomorrow will be a very nice day indeed!" she thought to herself.
