Keterangan waktu yang biasanya mengikuti simple past tense adalah: yesterday, two days ago, last month, last week, a week ago, last year

PRESENT PERFECT TENSE adalah tense yang digunakan untuk menyatakan aktivitas yang berlangsung di waktu LAMPAU dan MASIH dilakukan pada saat ini atau efeknya masih dirasakan pada saat ini.

contohnya:

  1. She has lived in Indonesia for five years. (artinya dia tinggal di Indonesia selama lima tahun dan sekarang masih tinggal disana).
  2. I have played badminton since I was in primary school. (artinya saya telah bermain badminton sejak SD dan sampai sekarang masih bermain).

Bentuk umum dari present perfect tense adalah

(+) Subject + Have/has + Past Participle

(-) Subject + Have/has not + Past Participle

(?) Have/has + Subject + Past Participle

Untuk membuat kalimat dengan dua tenses diatas, maka kita perlu memahami mengenai perubahan verb yang digunakan yaitu verb-2 dalam simple past tense dan verb-3 dalam present perfect tense, contohnya:
