1. people normal good eyes can see objects of 1/50,000 of a millimetre apart. However, people cannot see many thing, including moon (small objects that we can't see). Moon can't we see use normal eyes, to see them, people need special tools to see that small object.
2. Three centuries ago, Anton Van Leeuwenhoek in the Netherlands invented microscope, the very simple microscope. He used a lens in his microscope and put the object very close to the lens. Robert Hooke start to used that microscope with two lenses.
3. Optical microscope uses two lenses. One lens is close to the object. This lens make an upside-down image of the objects. It can make a virtual image, we can see that image much better and very clearly. The last one, electron microscpe, we usually use that to see viruses
4. In 1610, Galileo Galilei invented a telescope. He used the telescope to observe objects in the sky
