Solo – Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka will start 100 percent face-to-face learning (PTM) in stages next week. However, he postponed PTM for groups of children who had not been vaccinated against COVID-19.

"Next week it will be 100 percent for class IX. Next week will be 100 percent for class VIII, gradually," said Gibran at Solo City Hall, Wednesday (5/1/2022).

Meanwhile, for children, he continued, there are still groups that have not been vaccinated. This is because these children participate in the School Child Immunization Month (BIAS) program, so they have to wait a month to be vaccinated.

"There is BIAS. We should have waited a few weeks. We can't inject in batches. But we prioritize the new BIAS for vaccines," he said.

According to him, the implementation of 100 percent PTM will still be started gradually while monitoring the situation. However, he emphasized that the 100 percent PTM would take place in full in February 2022.

"Everything in February is 100 percent, the vaccination has been completed. Because we have to wait for the vaccination to finish. Poor little ones. We just want to be safer. We'll see if there's a spike in cases or not, we have to be careful, especially for children 6-11 years old," Gibran said.

Asked about other regions that are ready to implement 100 percent PTM for children, Gibran also questioned. Because in Solo, there are groups of children who still follow BIAS.

"I don't know about other regions, try asking other regions. There should be BIAS as well," he concluded.
